The Green Pea

The May before Michael came home from his mission (2001), I was in need of a car and quickly. I was able to buy (with some help :) ) this little green Geo. It has been a good car for me and then for Michael and I. Of course, when we married, Michael's brothers teased him and told him it was going to be his car. I told them that it was my car and I would be driving it. That lasted until our first winter in Ottumwa, when I began driving the Blazer more and more, eventually taking over all the other cars we've owned.

Well, the Green Pea said good-bye to the Jolleys this morning. Michael posted it in the Swapsheet on Wednesday night, showed it to one guy last night who promptly bought it. I will miss my first car but since I truly haven't driven it in years, I'm prepared to let go. :-) Audrey was more attached than I was to watch it go!

TWO Big Girls

With the arrival of Bubba coming in (hopefully less than) 56 days, we have started to get ready. That includes figuring out where everyone will sleep once he leaves the bassinet.

We got our bunk beds last night and were able to set them up too. It was 10pm before we finished getting them set up, so everyone went to bed real willingly and with no problems. Grace on top & Audrey on bottom. Nap time was the same today - no problems. But what spurred on this entry was that after naptime today, there was a knock on the door so that the girls could come out. But, much to my surprise, it wasn't my big girl knocking but Audrey! I know with the baby coming that she won't be my baby anymore but it was my baby knocking like her big sister! It's hard to imagine but she is growing up too!

Audrey can't climb up or get down yet without help - and
probably won't try again for a while after not making it up this morning.
No boo-boos.

Bunk Beds Blessing:
We had decided to get some bunk beds due to our small quarters but couldn't really agree on where to buy them. I was all for just purchasing brand-new ones at a store. Michael wanted to look in the local Swap sheet and see what we could find. I was hesitant b/c you just don't know the person you are buying from or the condition, etc.

But a set came up in the Swap sheet and Michael wanted to check them out. I wasn't the most willing of people but decided we should at least see them. So when the guy called back to set up a time and gave his name when I answered the phone, I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was someone I knew! :)

So, long story, a little shorter we were able to purchase a bunk bed set that was the color I wanted (which we couldn't find in the store), at a height that wasn't too high for Grace and sturdy at a price where we are able to buy brand new mattresses too for the price of just a store-bought bunk set, and from someone I felt comfortable with!! Blessings!!

Lucy Annabelle

Andy & Susie's baby girl joined the Jolley family on Wednesday morning. We are so glad she's here and everything went well (and that she's a she!) Lucy Annabelle was born Wednesday at 9:30am. She's little thing - 7 lb7oz and kinda short - 19 3/4" But she has a lot of hair and when Aunt Niki & I showed up, she was sucking away at her fingers. May not be a binkie baby for her momma!

Previous to Lucy's arrival, on Saturday, we had our Sister's Baby's Coming time. Lisa, Niki, Darcy, Susie, her mom Margaret and I went out for breakfast and then Niki, Susie, Margaret and I went to this great pottery painting store to do a little art. The pictures from that are included in the slide show. It was a fun day!

Over the last 3 weeks, I've tried to take a lot more pictures. And it has just been fun - not necessarily the best - but they show things we are doing.

One of my girlfriends got married in the Nauvoo Temple. We've all been so excited for Keeley & Ben from IL. (But they are currently residing in Wloo.)

Not a normal thing for us, but instead of watching General Conference a few Saturdays ago, it was sunny & windy. The perfect ingredients to fly the kites the Easter Bunny brought the girls. They had a good time, but got frustrated that the kites wouldn't fly properly. By the time we figured out how to put them together correctly, the girls were over it and ready to move on. But here they are with Thomas the Train & Mickey & Minnie high up there.

A recent favorite - it's 4pm in the afternoon. They were coming out to see me in the Laundry room and got themselves dressed and shoes on. The rainboots are Grace's.
